Parking for People with Disabilities

Individuals with certain disabilities may be eligible for temporary or permanent disabled parking placards, plates, and/or tabs.


Applications for license plates must include a current registration showing the applicant as a registered owner.

  • Fees. There is no fee for a temporary or permanent parking placard. The fee for license plates is $32.75. The tab fee is $13.75.
  • Renewals. A renewal notice will be mailed four to six weeks before expiration. A new application and written prescription from a health care provider* are required for renewal. 
*New requirement effective July 1, 2015

Additional Information
  • No more than two total disabled parking placards, plates, and/or tabs may be issued to one person at the same time (e.g., a person may have one placard and one set of license plates, two placards, etc).
  • Temporary placards can be issued for up to 12 months. Permanent placards are valid for five years from the date of issuance.
