Recycling

All Snohomish County Recycling & Transfer Stations and Drop Boxes have designated recycle areas for accepted items that are free of charge for residential customers. Please see the accepted items as well as the prohibited items listed below:

*Larger quantities of automotive items are accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility
 
Batteries Household Only (Dry cell, rechargeable, Nickel-Cadmium or Lithium)
Cardboard (flattened), newspapers, and mixed paper No pizza boxes, paper towels, paper plates, tissues, carbon paper,
disposable diapers, foil wrapping paper, frozen food or drink packaging,
waxed, greasy, or plastic-coated paper or cardboard such as milk cartons
and juice boxes, or hardcover books accepted for recycling. These items are accepted as garbage only.

Cooking oil Up to 10 gallons per customer, per day
Fluorescent tubes/bulbs (CFLs)  Up to 10 tubes/bulbs (CFLs) per customer, per day
Glass bottles and jars

Fluids drained, battery removed, extra plastic taken off (if possible)

8 feet or less (must be 85% metal or more)

Includes leaves, weeds, flowers, roots, grass clippings, shrubbery, and
small tree trimmings/branches.
  • Wood & branches under 4" in diameter can be up to 10' in length
  • Wood & branches over 4" inches in diameter can be up to 4' in length
  • Tree stumps must be under 4' in diameter and 4' in length. Must be able to move without staff assistance
Yard debris / clean wood debris cannot include: plastic bags, soil, rocks,
sod, food waste, pet waste or wood that has been treated, painted, stained, burned or laminated
