Involuntary Treatment Administration

Program Services


The Involuntary Treatment Program evaluates individuals who are suffering from acute psychiatric symptoms and are alleged to pose a danger to themselves, others, property, or who are gravely disabled, for involuntary psychiatric treatment. This program:
  • Evaluates individuals who may require emergency psychiatric hospitalization
  • Arranges admissions to the evaluation and treatment facilities and psychiatric hospitals
  • Troubleshoots emergency mental health situations
  • Seeks less restrictive alternatives to hospitalizations
