Elliott Rd & Connelly Rd

Both Elliott and Connelly roads reopened in September 2013 after completion of the project.

Description
In August 2013, surface water management replaced two culverts that run beneath the intersection of Elliott and Connelly roads, south of Snohomish.
The old culverts were too small to handle the large volume of water running through them during storms. When the culverts backed up, water overflowed onto the road, disrupting traffic and damaging the pavement. Crews installed new, 16-foot-wide concrete split-box culverts under the road. The new culverts will also replace a nearby driveway culvert. The wider culverts will reduce the chance for flooding and improve fish passage.

Road Closures
During construction, the crew cut through the roads to remove and replace each of the culverts. During the work, drivers followed signed detours. For more details, download the project postcard.
