Consolidated Homeless Grant

The Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG) program combines state homeless resources into a single grant opportunity for county governments under the administration of the Department of Commerce. The Human Services Department is the lead agency for administering CHG funds in Snohomish County. Local non-profit organizations receive grants through the county and provide the direct services. The CHG program is designed to support an integrated system of housing assistance to prevent homelessness and quickly re-house households who are unsheltered.

Consolidated Homeless Grant Assistance
CHG assistance includes:
  • Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing: Short to medium-term rental assistance for eligible homeless and at-risk households
  • Operational support for emergency shelter facilities (including case management)
  • Limited motel voucher assistance to target populations including:
    • Those discharging into homelessness from hospitals that still need outpatient care
    • Persons with extensive medical or mental health issues with needs that cannot be accommodated in congregate emergency shelter facilities
