Suspected Semi Thief Apprehended

STANWOOD, Wash. –  A man suspected of stealing a semi-truck and assaulting a Sheriff’s deputy has been apprehended after an hour-long manhunt. 

The incident began around 12:30 p.m. when a call came in that the suspect allegedly stole a 10-wheel semi-truck from the 2600 block of Norman Rd.  A Sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle and suspect, who was out of the truck, a short time later.  When the deputy attempted to question the suspect, the suspect assaulted the deputy and fled the area on foot.  With the assistance of several units, including K9, the suspect was located at Church Ck Gulch and Jensen Rd and taken into custody around 2 p.m.

The deputy sustained what are believed to be minor injuries.

This incident is still under investigation and further details will be released when available.
