Injured Hiker NE of Spada Lake
Sultan, Wash. – Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Search and Rescue units are enroute to an injured hiker, a 56-year old male, located approximately 8 miles NE of Spada Lake on a trail near Williams Creek at an altitude of 2,500 feet. The hiker sustained a head injury after a fall. He was accompanied by two other people, one stayed with him and the other hiked out for assistance.
SCSO has deployed the search and rescue helicopter and has been able to locate the injured hiker and companion. However, due to weather conditions and safety considerations there will be no rescue attempt tonight. The recue will resume during daylights hours tomorrow (9-1-2014).
As of this writing we have no further information as to how the hiker sustained his injuries or the nature of the injuries.
