Injured Hiker near Mt. Pugh Rescued

Darrington, Wash. — Snohomish County Search and Rescue teams rescued an injured hiker near Mt. Pugh, east of the Mountain Loop Hwy. It is believed that the hiker, a 28 year-old male, sustained serious injuries after falling about 50 feet.
Search and rescue teams were mobilized when the incident was reported around 1:15 p.m. today and the helicopter rescue team arrived at his location around 3:30 p.m. The victim was transported from the area by air around 10 p.m. to Providence Medical Center in Everett. Volunteers from several mountaineering groups, including Everett Mountain Rescue, Pierce County Mountain Rescue, and Olympic Mountain Rescue, assisted with the rescue.
