Sergeant Injured in Collision

Marysville, Wash. — A Sheriff’s Office sergeant was involved in a one car collision around 11 p.m. while driving southbound on I-5, striking a guard rail near exit 208. He has been transported to an area hospital and the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time. The sergeant was enroute to the shots fired calls in the Granite Falls area when the collision occurred. It is believed, but not yet confirmed, that he may have suffered from a medical episode and the incident is under investigation by the Collision Investigations Unit. No further details are available this morning.
