Suspect arrested in assaults with a sword

LYNNWOOD, Wash. At approximately 9:10 PM on Wednesday, November 5th, a call was made to 911 to report a man was in the street in the 13800 block of Fender Drive, Lynnwood, who was bleeding and yelling for help.  That 29 year old man was transported a short time later for serious wounds to his neck and arm.

At 9:15 PM, a woman called 911 to report that her grandson tried to cut her with a sword at a residence in the 13700 block of Fender Drive.   The woman’s injuries were described as minor and did not require medical attention.

At 9:30 PM, a third victim entered the Dollar Tree store, located at 13619 Mukilteo Speedway and asked for help for a large cut to his hand.  The 40 year old man described to deputies that he was at a nearby residence when a man cut him with a sword.  The man is being treated at a local hospital for a hand injury.

A 24 year old Lynnwood man was placed in custody at a residence in the 13700 block of Fender Drive, where the three assaults are believed to have all occurred.  The relationship between the suspect and the two injured men has not been determined yet.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.  There is no additional information at this time.
