SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Last Monday evening, detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to the discovery of human remains near the 16000 block of Dubuque Rd.  The body was discovered by two people who were walking their dog in the area.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the remains are of 18 year-old Fernando Mendoza from Burlington, Wash. who died from multiple gunshot wounds.  Mendoza was reported missing by family members to Skagit County Sheriff’s Office last July.  Detectives from both Skagit and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office believe they have identified and are actively looking for one suspect in the case.
