  1. CERT Training Course

    February 21, 2017, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Everett Office of Emergency Management

    The Everett Office of Emergency Management offers Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class every fall and spring. The 8-week training course is conducted one evening each week and covers a variety of planning, prevention, and manipulative skills aimed at surviving a disaster. Participants will be expected to attend all 8 sessions, establish a three (3) day home survival kit, obtain personal safety equipment, and be a willing team participant. CERT is about people helping people. There is a requirement to attend all sessions, establish a 3-day home emergency kit, obtain personal safety equipment, and be a willing team participant. Cost for personal safety equipment is approximately $30 and it’s advised to purchase equipment on your own to ensure proper fitting. The basic equipment information and where to purchase will be explained at the first class. The class is open to anyone, but priority is given to those who live or work in the City of Everett.   2. Map Your Neighborhood, Train the Trainer Workshop

    Do you want to be more prepared for an emergency or a disaster? The Map Your Neighborhood program is a great tool for neighbors to get prepared for emergency situations. In a large scale disaster emergency response systems could be overwhelmed. Neighbors can help one another if outside help is not available. The Map Your Neighborhood program is designed to teach neighbors a streamline system to respond to emergencies in 9 simple steps. The Stanwood- Camano Island YMCA and the Snohomish Department of Emergency Management presents an one hour "train the trainer" on how to implement Map Your Neighborhood. Participants will learn the basics of the Map Your Neighborhood program and tips on getting the program starting in your neighborhood. Space is limited. Participants should register with Michelle Boll 425-388-5064 before February 17th.

First Flight is a wonderful 60-minute award winning film,” says Adopt A Stream Foundation Director Tom Murdoch. This event will be a delight for the whole family.” During the movie, you will be able to witness the personal life of hummingbirds, witness breathtaking moments of “Honey” laying her eggs, and her tiny hatchings, Ray and Zen, pecking themselves into a new life.
