Sustainable Energy

Snohomish County's Office of Energy & Sustainability (OES) works to conserve natural resources, reduce our climate impact, and facilitate environmental stewardship. OES partners with departments across County government and in the community to develop innovative programs and policies to actively address environmental challenges.

Industry Activity

As the state’s manufacturing center, Snohomish County employers produce
medical devices, electronic equipment, solar modules and inverters,
bio-pharmaceuticals, recreation equipment and, of course, aircraft. We’re home
to Boeing Commercial Airplanes and an aerospace supply chain that produces
their 747, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft.
Our proximity to Seattle makes Snohomish County an ideal location for high-tech
employers seeking a suburban location. T-Mobile has an engineering center,
Zumiez (retail) has their corporate headquarters, and Google and AT&T have
customer service centers. Two significant companies in the ultrasound space,
Philips and Sonosite, also have headquarters and manufacturing operations here.
