- Plat / Condo Name Reservations
Individuals, developers or companies may reserve a name for a pending formal plat or condo project. The reservation process ensures that the name is available to be used by the applicant only for a one year period. State law requires that the county auditor or recording officer not accept for recording any plat, map or subdivision of land bearing a name the same or similar to the name of any map or plat already on record in the office.
Customers can search to see if a name has been reserved or used through our online records search tool. Once you move past the disclaimer page, please select the Search Recorded & Reserved Plat Names under the Official Public Records heading.
Customers may reserve a plat name by completing a Plat and Condo Name Reservation Request (PDF) and submitting it with the required $50 fee. The reservation is good for one year form the date issued and can be renewed prior to expiration for $25.
Reservations can be made in person or by mail.
Payment by mail should be in the form of a check, money order or cashier's check payable to Snohomish County Auditor
