1. HIRST Decision Update


    As you may have heard, the Washington State legislature has recently passed new regulations  related to permit exempt wells and resolution to the issues raised by the HIRST decision (October 2016). The legislation was signed by Governor Inslee.

  2. Highlighted Items


    PDS has published two newly proposed rules that address recreational vehicle use and process to delay installation of final lift within approved developments:
    • Adopted PDS Director's Rule 18-02 supersedes and updates an existing rule and make several procedural changes to implement a recently adopted ordinance. The rule was adopted on May 11, 2018 and becomes effective on May 18, 2018. 
    • Proposed PDS Director's Rule 18-03 would clarify the use of recreational vehicles on properties within unincorporated Snohomish County. PDS is accepting public comment on the proposed rule through May 9, 2018.

  4. DFIRMs - New Preliminary Flood Hazard Maps


    Snohomish County is in the process of adopting new Flood Insurance Rate Maps also known as FIRM maps.  These are the official maps on which the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has delineated special flood hazard areas and risk zones. They show the location of a property relative to special flood hazard areas, which is one of the factors determining flood insurance rates. For more information visit our Flood Hazard DFIRMS page.
