Snohomish County is dedicated to assisting students with their career growth and development through internships.

Internship postings can be found on our Job Listings page. Once an internship position has been posted, applications will be accepted online through NEOGOV.

Go to Job Notifications to sign-up to receive email notifications of new postings. Click on your categories of interest including "Internship." Once submitted, you will receive both job and internship posting notifications according to your categories of interest.

To research internship descriptions, go to the Job Descriptions page and type "intern" in the search box. If you are interested in a specific internship, open up the description and click on "Email me when jobs like this become available."

For internships in Human Services, the Sheriff's Office or the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, please contact the department directly.

Snohomish County Internship Program

Snohomish County supports internship programs that provide work experience for high-school students and for students in an accredited post-secondary institution that is related to their course of study. The internship program is designed so that the student will have the opportunity to apply principles and theories learned in the classroom, gain new skills, explore a career path and be supervised and mentored by a professional in their field.

The student may choose to receive scholastic credit for their internship in accordance with the guidelines set by their school.

The level of school required will vary from high-school to graduate school. Each internship in each department will set minimum requirements for the level of school required.

During the school year, the internships will vary from 10-20 hours and during the summer from 10-40 hours.

There will be paid and unpaid internship and the pay level varies by specific internship.
