Stanwood Bryant Road - embankment repair (2013)

Description

Stanwood-Bryant Road is located east of Stanwood and north of Arlington. The county's Road Maintenance crew stabilized and repaired an embankment and roadway where slumping developed during the winter of 2012.

The road is a two-lane, east-west, asphalt paved rural arterial. It drops into a ravine north of 268th St. NE and follows along the west side of a creek through the project site.

A geotechnical investigation was conducted to determine existing conditions and develop a detailed plan to address the issues. The embankment just south of 268th St. NE was reconstructed above and below the level of the roadway. The timber wall approximately 1500 feet south of 268th St. NE was also repaired as part of the project.
