Project Overview
Completed in 2020
Cavalero Hill Park is a county-owned park within the city limits of the City of Lake Stevens. This park was master planned back in 2002 prior to the addition of several pieces of property. The City of Lake Stevens and the Lake Stevens Rotary Club agreed to partner with the County to update the park master plan. As an act of community service, Lake Stevens Rotary raised funds to develop a skate park.
A collaborative preferred development plan was agreed upon between the City and the County. This preferred plan was developed with a very active ad-hoc committee to help direct the design. This committee was made up of city elected officials, parks commissioners, recreation enthusiasts, neighbors and community activists. Input was received from several community meetings that helped shape the design.
In 2019, a groundbreaking was held to start construction of the new projects which included a skate park, sport court, playground, and off-leash dog area. The park additions were completed in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no ribbon-cutting ceremony.
