- Swift II Pedestrian Facilities (2019)
To support Community Transit's proposed Swift Bus Rapid Transit Green Line, Public Works is proposing pedestrian facility improvements at the following locations:
Public Works upgraded curb ramps to current standards and installed Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) at the intersection of Beverly Park Road and 112th Street SW in the Everett area.
This project was constructed in the summer of 2019.
Public Works added new sidewalk on the east and west side of Center Rd from Alexander Rd to Marino Ave. The sidewalk continues north on the both sides of Marino Ave from Center Rd to the back entrance of Fairmont Elementary School. The intersection of Center Rd and Marino Ave was reconfigured to improve safety and mobility. A parking lane along the Marino Avenue stretch was added. Approximately 2,500 lineal feet of sidewalk and 13 new curb ramps were constructed. This project improves pedestrian access to Community Transit’s Green Line transit stops as well as pedestrian access to Fairmont Elementary School.
This project was constructed in the summer of 2019.
The 4th Avenue W pedestrian facility improvements project includes a new sidewalk on the east side of 4th Avenue W from 134th Street SW to the south side of the Mariner Park and Ride entrance. Existing curb ramps will also be upgraded to current standards at the intersection of 4th Avenue W and 132nd Street SW.
Construction is expected to occur in Spring/Summer 2019.
A new sidewalk and bike lane on the east side of 10th Drive SE from Elgin Way to 129th Street SE was added and a new sidewalk along the south side of 129th Street SE from 10th Drive SE to 12th Drive SE was added.
This project was constructed in the summer of 2019.
Pedestrian improvements were made including a separated walkway on the south side of 196th Street SE from State Route (SR) 527 to 23rd Drive SE. Improvements were also made at 22nd Avenue SE, 23rd Drive SE and 24th Drive SE.
The design of the pedestrian facilities is funded through Snohomish County's Road Fund.
These projects are funded through a combination of a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant and the Snohomish County Road Fund.
