Stormwater Facility Retrofit Near 10900 Meridian Dr SE

Project Description - Completed 2019

Snohomish County Public Works, Surface Water Management Division, modified the existing stormwater pond located at the intersection of Meridian Dr SE and 109th Place SE in order to reduce high flows downstream and improve water quality. The modifications included  excavating the pond to provide additional storage capacity and deepening the permanent pool to encourage pollutant settling.

Additional work consisted of constructing concrete retaining walls and a rockery that make up the pond walls and maintenance access ramp, installing fencing around the perimeter of the pond, and placing new storm water pipes and structures to and from the pond. In order to construct new curb and gutter, sidewalk, and a landscape buffer, approximately 12-feet of roadway width was removed along the west side of 109th Place SE.

Schedule

  • This project started June 4, 2018 and the contract construction portion was completed in December 2018.
  • Crews will return in 2019 to complete the landscape buffer.

Traffic

Signage and traffic control were provided to route traffic around the construction site.
