Snohomish County Public Works will be replacing a culvert under the road at 5617 Menzel Lake Rd during summer 2019. The current culvert is on a fish-bearing stream and will be replaced with a 15-foot wide concrete box culvert. The new culvert will improve fish passage.
Work is anticipated to take place during summer 2019.
To install the new culvert, the road will be closed south of Pilchuck Pl for approximately three weeks between July and September. The detour route will be signed and utilize N Carpenter Rd, Robe Menzel Rd, S Granite Ave, and E Pioneer St. Local Access will remain available to residents and businesses on Menzel Lake Rd during the closure.
The estimated cost for this culvert replacement is $400,000 and will be funded through the Road Fund.
