Snohomish County Public Works will be overlaying 1.23 miles on Airport Road and 128th St. SW from southeast of Highway 99 to west of the I-5 interchange to preserve the pavement and make for a smoother driving surface for motorists. The project will use polymer modified asphalt designed to extend the life of the driving surface by as much as five years over regular asphalt. Polymer-modified asphalt provides better resistance to rutting and cracking.
ADA curb ramps on Airport Road and 19th Pl W will be replaced. Detection loops at Airport Road and Admiralty Way also will be replaced with more modern designs so that cars can better trigger traffic signals.
Construction will take place in spring/summer 2020. Get details here as they become available.
