17115 116 Pl NE Buyout (Arlington)

Description

Snohomish County Public Works proposes to acquire six parcels that have been continually damaged due to repeated flooding. These parcels have river frontage on the South Fork Stillaguamish River. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) considers the properties substantially damaged and agrees to fund the flood mitigation strategy for acquisition of the properties. Following acquisition, all structures will be demolished, the septic and well decommissioned, and the driveway de-compacted. All disturbed areas will be stabilized with mulch and planted with native plants. Existing native vegetation will be preserved where possible. This project is not considered “development” under WAC 173-27-030(6).
