Snohomish County replaced two culverts at the 268th St NW crossing of Secret Creek, near Stanwood, during summer 2021. The pre-existing 24-inch and 18-inch concrete culverts were deemed a fish-passage barrier. The project replaced the parallel culverts with a single 18-foot span, 10-foot rise, by 70-foot long culvert.
Construction for this project took place during August, 2021.
A three-week road closure was required for this project in the 1300 block of 268th St NW with a signed detour. The assigned detour route used 28th Ave NW, 276th St NW/Beck Rd, Old Highway 99, 12th Ave NW, and 268th St NW.
Construction for this project was estimated at $715,000 and was funded through the Surface Water Management Utility Fund.
