Damson Rd Sidewalk Extension

Description - Completed in 2021

Snohomish County Public Works completed the Damson Rd sidewalk extension project in August 2021 along the west side of Damson Rd across from Hilltop Elementary School in Lynnwood. Crews installed a concrete sidewalk north of the Hilltop Fire Station (20510 Damson Rd), as a continuation of the sidewalks that were installed in front of the fire station in 2018. The project improved pedestrian access for residents and students of Hilltop Elementary School.

Schedule

Work began in early August and lasted several weeks. Construction hours occurred Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews were practicing COVID-19 prevention protocols during this project.

Traffic Impact

  • Drivers may have experienced minimal delays during the day with slightly longer wait times during commuting hours. There were single lane closures on Damson Rd, requiring one-way traffic during construction hours with two-way traffic returning at the end of the work day.
  • Pedestrian assistance through the work zone was available during construction hours. Access to the crosswalk was available during non-construction hours.

Funding

Funding for the $192,000 project came from the Snohomish County Road Fund.
