Cutthroat Creek Habitat Project

Description

Snohomish County Surface Water Management is restoring 1,100 feet of stream habitat on Cutthroat Creek, a tributary to Little Bear Creek and is located within the county’s Carousel Ranch Community Park site.

The project implements the top priority in-stream restoration project in the Little Bear Creek Basin Plan, re-establishing natural riparian vegetation and increasing the amount of in-stream habitat for all life stages of coho populations, as well as Chinook salmon and steelhead, which are present in the main stem of Little Bear Creek.

The benefits expected from restoration include balanced sediment transport, increased habitat complexity, reconnection to the floodplain, and restored ecosystem processes.

Schedule

Construction is planned for 2022.
