Open House: Lynnwood Area Road and Trail Improvements

Public Works is hosting a public meeting to provide information and get feedback on the following projects: Alderwood Mall Parkway Corridor, Ash Way Corridor, Interurban Trail Improvements, 36th/35th Ave W Improvements, 164th St SW Overlay.
  • When: Wednesday, October 12, 2022 – Stop by any time between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.


  • Where: Alderwood Water and Wastewater District Offices, Meeting Room
                   3626 156th St SW, Lynnwood, 98087
  • What: Residents of the area, commuters, and families of nearby schools are invited to discuss the five projects. Staff will be available to answer questions about the projects and gather feedback.

Description


Snohomish County Public Works is proposing to construct Interurban Trail Improvements between 160th St SW and 167th Pl SW. This project will construct missing links in the Interurban Trail for approximately 0.5 mile on the west side of Meadow Rd/13th Ave W. The purpose is to provide continuous facilities for pedestrians and bicycles through the corridor.

Schedule


  • 2021-2023: Design, survey, environmental review and right-of-way plan 
  • 2023-2024: Utility relocation
  • 2024: Right-of-way acquisition
  • 2025: Proposed construction, subject to funding availability. 

Traffic Impact


Traffic impacts will be determined in the project engineering phase.

Funding


Snohomish County Road Funds will be used for design, engineering, right of way acquisition and part of the construction costs. Additional funding sources are being pursued.

Land Disturbing Activity (LDA) Permit

This project will be reviewed for compliance with Chapter 30.63A (Drainage) and Chapter 30.63B (Land Disturbing Activity) SCC, as well as other applicable regulations in Title 30 SCC. Snohomish County Public Works will exercise its authority under Rule 5001 (Revised 10/2020).
 
A notice of Land Disturbing Activity (LDA) was published on July 17, 2022. The 21-day comment period ended August 8, 2022.
