Interpreter Services

The Snohomish County Superior \ Juvenile and District courts interpreter web system empowers court staff and court-approved interpreters to efficiently and conveniently manage the scheduling and assignment of interpreter services. The Snohomish County Superior \ Juvenile and District courts requires interpreter services in processing court cases for a variety of languages.

 

Pursuant to Administrative Order 22-05B, starting on June 1st, 2022, District Court will be changing which hearings can be done virtually via Zoom and which must be attended in person. We compiled a list that may be easier to understand, and it can be viewed by clicking this link.

 

In-custody defendants are required to be physically present in the courtroom provided at the Snohomish County jail for in-custody hearings on either the 9:30 am misdemeanor jail calendar or the 1:00 pm felony jail calendar held Monday through Friday.  Interpreters are required to be physically present if a hearing participant needs interpreter services is required to be physically present.  Administrative Order 22-05B.  Accordingly, interpreters must appear in person at the Snohomish County jail for the aforementioned hearings when a defendant needs interpreter services.  Effective August 18, 2022, in addition to payment of the hourly rate and mileage, Snohomish County District Court will pay a $20 stipend to all interpreters that physically appear in person at the Snohomish County Jail for in-custody hearings on either the 9:30 am misdemeanor jail calendar or the 1:00 am felony jail calendar.
