Whitehorse Campground Phase 2

Project Description

Phase 2 is the addition of 12 non-utility campsites (with shared water) and shower equipped restrooms at Whitehorse Park campground. Construction is scheduled for June 2022 with an estimated completion date of August/September 2022. Most work will be performed weekdays between the hours of 8am-5pm. Existing (Phase 1) campsites will remain open during construction, but may be impacted by noise and equipment traffic.  


Current Status

  • Contractor will mobilize to the site the week of 6/6/2022
  • First iteration of construction will be the 12 tent camping sites with a duration of approximately 6 weeks. This work will include:
    • Felling approx. 70 trees and clearing the underbrush for the tent loop and 12 sites
    • Excavation for the water lines
    • Grading and rocking the loop for car travel
    • Pouring the concrete foundation and pad for restroom
  • Second iteration will be the construction of the restroom building.
    • The work for this building depends on the delivery of the restroom package. This is anticipated for mid to late August
    • The restroom will be constructed in 90 days
