Classroom Visits/Civil Discourse

Since 2021, Councilmember Nehring has joined Councilmember Mead for a series of classroom visits to high schools across Snohomish County. These visits highlighted the need for civil discourse in our politics and broader public lives.

The Councilmembers have been able to share their experience working together despite political differences and working toward better government for all of Snohomish County. They also share general information about county government, their experience as elected officials, and answer questions from students.

Councilmember Nehring has enjoyed the opportunity to visit students and encourages teachers and school officials to reach out if they are interested in hosting the Councilmembers. Contact Russell Wiita in Councilmember Nehring's Office at russell.wiita@snoco.org for more information.
