Project Description

Snohomish County Parks & Recreation is renovating the play area at Forsgren Park in Bothell. This project will replace the outdated play equipment to bring the play area up to current safety and accessibility standards. The play equipment will include play structures and seating for children of all abilities ages 2 to 12.

Updates/Current Status

Snohomish County Parks is hosting an Open House at Forsgren Park on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Please stop by Forsgren Park any time between 10 am and 2 pm during the open house and help pick out play equipment and provide input on the design. Community involvement is essential in this renovation and we want to hear from you.

Based on community input at the May meeting, a preferred concept will be developed that will be shared on the project website and on the project sign in the park.

A short online survey will also run from May 6, 2023, through May 21, 2023, if you cannot attend the meeting or prefer to provide feedback via other methods. Take the survey by clicking this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZMN8VGR

Open House Saturday, May 6, 2023. Drop by any time 10 am to 2 pm

Where: Forsgren Park 23109 Carter Road Bothell, WA 98021

History

The property was formerly a county-owned gravel pit. It was reclaimed in the early 1980s and offered to the Parks Division. The first development of the site was funded by a HUD grant that provided for grading and seeding of the soccer fields. The North Shore Soccer Youth Association funded the all-weather soccer fields and baseball fields. The association continues to maintain the fields and schedule games.
