It is an honor and privilege to serve you on the Snohomish County Council as the representative of District 2. As your councilmember, I am committed to fighting for working families and healthy communities. We have so much to be proud of in Snohomish County and I will work to protect and improve our well-being by focusing on affordability, livability, and sustainability. Biography of Megan Dunn, District 2 Councilmember
Megan has a 20-year work and volunteer background improving lives for working families and communities through thoughtful policy change. As a community leader, environmental health advocate, and proud mother of two Everett Public School kids, she has spent her career collaborating with community members to address complex issues facing Snohomish County. Megan recently led the successful campaign to establish city council districts for Everett. The Everett Districts Now campaign was a nonpartisan, grassroots coalition dedicated to addressing disparities in representation and giving communities greater participation in the democratic process.
Most recently, Megan was the Healthy People and Communities Program Director with the Northwest Center for Alternatives to Pesticides, where she led efforts to help protect communities from harmful pesticides and chemicals. As a life-long advocate for protecting our environment, Megan is dedicated to ensuring that all of our communities have access to clean air to breathe, fresh water to drink, and clean soil for our agricultural needs.
Fighting for working families is a priority for Megan. She spent five years at Service Employees International Union (SEIU) where she worked to secure a city-wide contract which included the first ever guaranteed sick days, raises for workers, and safer working conditions. Megan started her own small business as a postpartum doula for new families and has worked for Rainforest Action Network, Earth Island projects and even taught sign language to gorillas!
Megan has a bachelor’s degree in Biology-Geology from University of Rochester and a Master of Arts in Policy Studies from University of Washington-Bothell. She lives in Everett with her husband, their two kids, and a rescue dog named Zoe.

Biography of Paula Rhyne, Legislative Aide
After graduating from the Evans School of Public Affairs from the University of Washington, Paula worked for then King County Councilmember Bob Ferguson as a Legislative Intern. When Bob was elected as Attorney General, she carried forward on staff with Councilmember Rod Dembowski as the Director of Constituent Relations, and staffed the Councilmember on matters pertaining to housing, homelessness, veteran’s affairs, food security, and human services. Currently, Paula also serves in a part-time capacity as an Everett City Councilmember and has previous experience as the President of the Board of Directors for the University District Food Bank where she governed a board of 15 members and oversaw a budget of $1 million dollars. Paula grew up in Snohomish County where her parents also owned a small business. She now lives in Everett with her family in a 122-year-old house.
