At around 1 p.m. today, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that two rafts had capsized on the Skykomish River east of Gold Bar over the Boulder Drop, dumping all 10 occupants into the river. All of the rafters were helped from the river, either by responding aid units or through self-rescue, and back into the rafts. They were able to travel safely downriver to Big Eddy River Access Park and haul out at approximately 3:30 p.m. The recreational rafters, who all declined aid, were all properly equipped and trained.
