The Snohomish County Dive Team and Marine Unit responded to a reported drowning of a boy today at Lake Roesiger.   Units responded to a residence in the 2300 block of S. Lake Roesiger Road after 911 calls reported the boy had failed to surface after swimming to a floating platform at about 2:20 pm.  A Sheriff’s Office helicopter also responded to assist in the search and rescue efforts.

The 8 year-old boy was located by divers at about 3:20 pm and he was transported to a hospital by a fire department aid crew.  His condition is not known at this time.

As weather improves and outdoor activity around lakes and rivers increases, it is important to remind the public that personal flotation devices should be worn when playing on or near the water, particularly by children.

We have no further information to release at this time.
