Monroe Stabbing Victim Dies

The 34 year-old woman who was stabbed multiple times by her estranged husband on May 24th in Monroe died yesterday afternoon at Harborview hospital.  Confirmation of the cause and manner of her death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Oscar Garcia-Pacheco, the 32 year-old Snohomish man suspected of the stabbing, was booked into the Snohomish County jail on 1st degree attempted murder.  Additional charges may be sought, pending a review of the case by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART).
