The 36 year-old rescued from the Headlee Pass/Vesper Peak area on Saturday by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit has been identified by the Medical Examiner as Diane Larson of Snoqualmie, Wash.  The ME confirmed that Larson died from injuries sustained when she fell at least 100 feet while snowshoeing in the area.

Larson’s accident was reported around 4:30 p.m. last Saturday.  Search and Rescue units located Larson on the ground Saturday evening and stayed with her and her party until SnoHAWK 10 arrived on the scene around 7:30 p.m. Rescue crews flew Larson to Providence Medical Center, performing CPR en route to the hospital.

Headless Pass is located south of the Mountain Loop Highway and north of Wallace Falls.
