ARLINGTON, Wash. – At this time, there are concerns about the potential of additional slide activity at the site of Saturday’s landslide.  As a result, some ground rescue crews have been pulled from the area which could be affected.  Geologists are surveying the scene to asses any risk.

Ground rescue crews are approaching the slide area from both sides (east and west) in an attempt to try to locate additional victims. Search dogs, hovercraft and helicopters are also involved in the search.  There are at least 100 responders active on the ground at this time.

This is also a reminder that the only access to the area above Trafton is for residents and first responders.  Members of the public and media are not being allowed into the area because of continued concern about safety.
