Child Falls from Moving Pick-up

Oso– At about 7:00 pm this evening, Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 30600 block of 171st Ave, N.E. Arlington on a report of a 10 year old boy who had fallen from the bed of a moving pick-up truck. The child was airlifted to Harborview Hospital with serious head injuries that are considered to be life threatening. The Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigations Unit is investigating and Deputies arrested the child’s father for investigation of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs.
“While there is a possible connection to driver impairment in this particular case, we want to remind everyone that under almost all circumstances it is unlawful for passengers to ride outside of a vehicle. Passengers, especially children, should always be in seats with proper seatbelts in use”.
