A 46 year-old Stanwood man was taken into
custody Sunday morning after allegedly holding his 27 year-old girlfriend
hostage at gunpoint. The incident began around 1 a.m. on May 4th
when the woman sent a message to her cousin via Facebook that her boyfriend had
assaulted her and threatened to shoot her if she left the residence at the
18000 block of 46th Ave NW.
The woman was able to leave the residence
shortly after deputies arrived. However, the male suspect refused to come
out. The SWAT Team arrived around 5:30 a.m., at which time the suspect
exited the residence without further incident.
The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County
Jail for harassment, unlawful imprisonment and 4th degree
assault. The female victim suffered minor injuries.
