The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Dive Unit rescued a 14 year-old female on the Skykomish River between Index and Gold Bar.  The victim and her father fell out of their inflatable kayak and scrambled safely to some rocks in the river.  She did not require aid at the scene. Responding officers issued a citation of failure to wear a life jacket (per SCC 10.32, which requires that life jackets and helmets be worn on any watercraft on the Skykomish River from the area of Big Eddy to the river’s source.)
