A man staying in the Hilton Garden Inn at Paine Field has died after jumping from the fourth floor window of the hotel.  Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the hotel around 3 AM for an assault call.  When they arrived, they found a woman in one of the hotel rooms who had been attacked by the man.  She was sent her to a nearby hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.  The male suspect barricaded himself in a fourth floor hotel room when deputies attempted to take him into custody.  He threw a table through the room’s outside window, then jumped from that window, sustaining critical head injuries. He died shortly thereafter before aid could arrive.

At this time, the identity of the man is unknown, but he and the woman were both believed to be staying at the hotel.  The woman is a 39 year-old from California and it is not believed they were related or staying together.  No weapons were involved. The man’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
