Everett, Wash. - A suicide attempt by an inmate at the Snohomish County Jail was prevented by corrections deputies and fellow inmates on Monday evening. At about 6:45 pm, a 40 year old female was attempting to hang herself when she was spotted by other inmates. A handful of inmates and a corrections deputy raced to the scene and were able to grab onto her before she jumped. The quick actions by the inmates and responding corrections deputies prevented serious injury. The female, who had been booked into the jail on felony and misdemeanor charges the previous week, was placed on suicide watch.
