Detectives are investigating the death of an 18 year-old man who died at Providence Regional Medical Center yesterday after he was allegedly punched by another 18 year-old man at a party earlier that morning.
A little after midnight on Sunday, December 21 the two men got into an altercation following a minor vehicle collision outside a party taking place at the 900 block of SW Lake Roesiger Rd in Snohomish. Following the confrontation, witnesses said the suspect punched the victim in the face and the victim fell backwards, unconscious. A friend of the victim drove him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County jail for 2nd degree manslaughter and the incident remains under investigation by Major Crimes Unit detectives.
Both victim and suspect are from Lake Stevens and are students at Crossroads High School in Granite Falls.
Identification of the victim, as well as cause and manner of death, will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
