PRIEST POINT – The Snohomish County Marine Services Unit, with assistance from Tulalip Fire District, rescued two people from the mouth of Steamboat Slough at Priest Point earlier today. The two men, both members of the Tulalip Tribe, were out on the water crabbing when their vessel sank. A witness in the area called 911 around 1:30 p.m. to report someone in the water calling for help. The men, ages unknown, were rescued less than half an hour later and both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
The incident is under investigation.
