Index, WA.  Marysville man (43) killed in traffic accident

Index, WA. – A pick-up truck driven by a Marysville man (43) left the road and traveled down a steep embankment killing the driver. At approximately 9:43 PM on May 10, 2015 a passenger truck traveling West on Mt. Index River Road left the road and toppled approximately 40 Feet down a steep embankment. The driver is believed to be only occupant. When rescue crews reached the truck they found the driver deceased. The location of the crash is approximately two miles off State Route 2 near Index, WA. The initial investigation indicates there were no other cars involved in the crash.

The driver of the truck was involved in a domestic dispute only minutes before the crash at a nearby residence. When he drove from the scene a woman involved in the disturbance called 911 and reported the man as a drunk driver. She only told 911 operators he was very intoxicated, she did not mention the disturbance.. Ten minutes later another 911 call came in reporting the man’s truck off the road. The disturbance was later reported to deputies investigating at the crash scene. The cause of the crash and the reported domestic disturbance are both being actively investigated by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
