Everett, Wash. – A driver traveling at a high rate of speed crashed his car into several vehicles east of Everett earlier tonight, critically injuring his passenger.
A witness had called 911 around 7:30 p.m. to report a hit and run on the Lowell-Larimer Rd. Soon, other calls came in that the driver of a black passenger car had lost control and crashed his car, hitting other vehicles. The accident took place a few hundred yards east of the intersection of Lowell Larimer Rd and Marsh Rd. The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle, a 31 year-old Everett man, was critically injured and transported to Harborview. Meanwhile, the driver, a 34 year-old Everett man, fled the scene on foot. Several homeowners and drivers in the area called 911 to report the location of the driver, who was finally located near the 6500 block of Lowell-Larimer Rd and taken into custody.
The road at the 5600 block of Lowell-Larimer Rd is currently closed, and traffic is being detoured onto 56th Ave. The intersection at Lowell-Larimer and Marsh Rd (Hwy 96) is open, but the area is an active investigation scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
