Seriously Injured Teen Rescued from Mt. Pilchuck

On Sunday, September 23rd the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit was dispatched to a report of an injured hiker at Mt. Pilchuck east of Granite Falls. The initial information provided to rescuers was that a 14 year-old male had fallen approximately 100 yards near the summit of Mt. Pilchuck and appeared to be seriously injured.
At approximately 3:00 PM the Sheriff’s Office helicopter, SNOHAWK 10, airlifted the boy from the accident scene to a Fire Department Aid Unit that was waiting in the Verlot area. Due to the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, he was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
No additional information on the victim’s current condition or the exact nature of his injuries is available at this time.
