Tree Falls on Passing Vehicle Near Monroe, Killing Driver

MONROE, Wash. – A man driving along Ben Howard Rd was killed earlier today when a tree fell onto his vehicle. The incident was reported around 1:10 p.m. at the 28800 block of Ben Howard Rd. The driver, believed to be a male in his 20's, died at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle and there were no other injuries reported at the scene. Positive identification of the deceased is pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office. Collision Investigation Unit detectives are on scene.
Ben Howard Rd is closed between Cedar Ponds Rd and 297th Ave SE for the investigation. Due to severe weather conditions, it may be several hours before the road re-opens.
