Index, Wash. – Personnel from the Search and Rescue Unit continue to look for a 25 year-old Texas woman who disappeared at Sunset Falls last night.  The woman was at the falls with her mother and sitting on a rock. Her mother turned away and when she looked back, her daughter was gone. An extensive search of the area around the falls was conducted, as well as a search in the water by fire and rescue crews.  In addition, the Sheriff’s Office helicopter, SnoHAWK1, searched the river downstream last night and today.

No additional large scale search operations are planned at this time, but SAR personnel will continue an evidence-based search of the area, as well as regular spot checks of the river shoreline.

This is the same area where a 49 year-old man went missing from on June 17.
