Pedestrian killed by train near Silvana

Silvana, Wash. – On 7/8/17, at about 5:19 PM, an 18 year old female was struck by a passenger train at the 1900 block of Pioneer Hwy near Silvana. According to witnesses, the female was standing on a bridge when the train came around the corner at about 60 MPH. The train operator sounded the horn and the female attempted to flee. Despite her efforts, the female was stuck by the train and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Detectives are currently on scene investigating the accident.
